Merseyside Collaborative Group

The Merseyside Collaborative Group was formed by the five metropolitan boroughs of Liverpool including the City of Liverpool, Knowsley, Sefton, St Helens and the Wirral. In 2006 the Group embarked upon two sourcing projects for Office Supplies and Office Furniture. For both projects they decided to utilise e-Three's sourcing technology and support to run the Tenders, including the use of eAuction for the final and best offer stage. The key objectives were to deliver savings, share sourcing resource and expertise and implement a sustainable source of good quality products. The projects were a resounding success saving 25% and 40% on Office Supplies and Office Furniture respectively which equated to a saving of £6.5 million delivered over the next 4 years. Additional benefits achieved from the projects included support for the local economy, advancements in sustainability and rationalisation of the supply base.
